AP5 Pro Wood Bat

The NYStix AP5 is the wood bat model I use in game play. Our AP5 maple wood bat is based on Sam Holman’s JB1 that Pujols used before the current AP5 iteration. I’ve always try to use a wood bat that was conservative with a mix of everything. But this model changed my approach.

For right handed hitters, turning on balls on the inside part of the plate is a weakness. So we back off of the plate more , and unless you have long arms, the pitches away from you are unreachable.

AP5 is a smooth swinging model that does not inhibit your hands and the bat head to pitches on the inside half of the plate. The model is aerodynamic.

Handle size metrics:  

• .91” or below = Thin handle.
• .92 to .96 = Normal handle.
• .96 to 1.00” = Large handle
